Random crowns in real-life (sort of)

From time to time, you get in a design rut, and nothing can
cure it but some good 'ol fashioned Googling.

Here's some finds!

Angela Lansbury--- circa 1949

Milla Jovovich!! (Looks like she could of used me!!)

Random photo from google. I love the wild look!!!
Don't think most can pull this off. Definitely not me!

My first YouTube experiment!!

Welcome to my garden

I know... sort of pathetic, but it's the best I can do right now :)

Too bad winter is coming, because I'd like it to be WAY bigger with a little table and chairs...maybe a tiny barbeque!

Rainy days ahead ... oh noes!

There's some hurricane gonna pass through this weekend. LAME. Should be cleared up by Monday. But what this means for me is that it will be too dark to take photos of my stuff!!! BOO!!
I made a lot last week, but so far, only a few photos have made the cut.
Here are some that were light enough! Others--- a tad on the blurry side :)

Fake bangs!

I've had bangs in the past (older posts), but always with shorter hair.

So, now that I'm getting a little bit of length on, I'm considering some dramatic, big, blunt bangs.

Here's the "fake-bang" pinned-up look :)

Any thoughts?

Dumping it out

I've been to quite a few appointments in the last week. The car dealership, couple doctors, blood work, etc. I find, when in that "waiting patiently" situation, I go straight for my purse.

I think a lot of women have a sort of "3rd arm" attachment with their purses. I carry my life around in it! I saw one women dig through her sack and produce a spoon --- like a real-life silvery spoon. She poured out a dose of cough syrup and took it. Kind of sticky and gross, but hey, whatever you gotta do.

I thought it would be fun to dump it out and show what I carry, because I always wonder what other women are toting.

Let's see, well, first off there's the water bottle. Gift from Lauren because we had some joke about water bottles. I forget it now. Useful though!

Got the cell phone and a variety of pens (I think I see an Ikea pencil, too!)

Business cards, big wallet with check book, Kleenex and a granola bar (you never know...)

New change purse from Rich (from Hawaii!) Shell pill-holder.

And the "which goose laid the golden egg?" smaller zip container with all the secret stuff! :)

=====

In other news:

I bought this print from another dealer in my mom's antique shop. Isn't it great!

I decided to try to replicate the crown:

It's definitely still a work in progress. But look for it on Etsy in the next week or two!!! I'm also going to be listing these little gems:

I'm branching out with the butterfly coloring and styling! :)

Here's the week's worth of production.....drying and ready for photos and descriptions! It's quite a process from idea to listing to shipping. Rewarding though.

Oh! And meet my new Mac book :) Isn't he cute!! He is already getting covered in glue though. It was inevitable....

Randomness, Vol. II

My mom always sends me these forward e-mails --- and this one's pretty good! Thought I would share :)  (Thanks, Mom!)

How lovely! And isn't that up-do just perfect?

Yay :)

My sister has an Etsy shop!!

Check it out!

My big sis, Amanda,  (who lives in Seattle) has finally opened an Etsy shop! She is the queen of thrift-shopping and has a great eye for styling duds :)

This is her with my little niece Ella!! ( a while ago!)

But her friend is the model (I forget her name ... ?... I know I met her once though)

Here is her shop: ROGUERETRO

I think I might buy this sweater, but it would be lame if her first sale was from me I think :)

photo safari!

Went on an old-fashioned photo safari this morning. Used to do this with my dad sometimes when I was younger --  one time we "shot a deer" (you know, took a picture of it.) And I thought it was the funniest thing and told everyone I knew.

So, today I went to Monocacy National Battlefield ( a Civil War battle) and Gambrill State Park (with the sweet overview and "Tea Room" building).

FUN.

Got Burger King on the way back, and am regretting it now...BUH.... I always regret it, yet I still eat it! Why is that?

Rich is in Hawaii this week. (jerk!) So, I am being super productive today AND tomorrow (two whole days to do Etsy! wheee!!) I think Rich is worried I won't want him to come back. But I do!!!! :) :)

Random-ness!

So, yeah. ... I just HAD to share this photo. Isn't it great! Apparently, the couple were on vacation and set up an auto-picture, and this little squirrel popped in the shot!! heheehe

Love. it.

Also, have you seen this video? It's from "Ukraine's Got Talent." She's a sand artist!

It's kind of long -- about 10 minutes---but really cool!

new blue shoes

Actually, they are green -- almost a peacock pattern!

I think I still have the urge to buy new shoes around back-to-school time. It's tradition, I suppose :)

These are from Anthropologie -- a bit of  splurge -- but totally adorable! They need some breaking in still.  A bit stiff.

But they've got that great new shoe smell! (Like new car smell is for boys...)

Happy almost fall! :)

Congrats to the happy couple on being so stylish!!!

Time keeps on slipping into the future ...

This is a little creepy, I admit it. But kind of neat!

Here is whichgoose circa August 2008 and then again in August 2009. Look how I've grown :)

I definitely figured out how to lighten my photos better. sheesh! That old one looks like I'm under a shady tree!

I guess the mood kind of describes how I was feeling at the time. But I've also done some growing on the inside, too! That old picture was taken at my parent's house (where I lived after I broke up with a live-in boyfriend.)

This was such an upheaval in my life, and really tested my ability to overcome "stuff." I think focusing on Etsy really helped, and here I am now, living in my own apartment!

I've got a new super-sweet boyfriend, and my very own washing machine!! :) :)

I do miss my parents though, and their little pup, Lucy :( Also the good leftovers that I could eat after work at 11 pm :)

So, here's to another year of growth and change, and maybe I will resist the urge to chop all my hair off again for 12 more months.

And I just want to give a THANK YOU shout out to everyone who has taken time to read this silly blog, or even leave a comment (they brighten my day!!)

Love from,

Emily

Oh, happy day

Normally, I try to avoid the "You-Tube Craze Videos," but I finally gave in and watched the wedding dance one. It's pretty cute-- really heart-warming! It seems like the feeling you should be feeling walking down the aisle, but expressed to a higher level.

Don't think everyone could pull this off... so, props to them!

I love how shocked the audience is at first.. and I think the bride would have looked super with a whichgoose crown!! :) hehehe

autumn essentials

Something about humid, disgusting late-summer days make me dream of fall.

And autumn makes me think of new clothes!!! I think this stems from the days of back-to-school shopping and that possibility of starting anew.

In any event, I'm sure I will not be able to wait and will be wearing sweaters in 75 degree weather.

Here are some definite possibilities:

cowl from thisolthing

She also has SUPER cute hats, of which I have bought two! :)

hat by ileaiye

Here's another hat option--- love the color.

boots from spirocreations

These are a bit pricey, but so cute! I also love the little yellow shoes in their shop. drool.

Clogs from Birkenstock

But, to maintain tradition, I will most likely buy a pair of Birks. I usually get a new Birk sandal in the summertime, and a new clog in the fall. Tradition .. or fashion rut!?
